Our Story

I was absolutely thrilled to discover there was such a thing as an independent midwife! After having IVF I knew I wanted more of a personal approach to my pregnancy and birth. I arranged for an initial consultation to find out more about the packages offered and how it would work. I had such a good feeling about it we decided to go for it. I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Seeing Leonie regularly throughout my pregnancy made such a difference to how I felt. Her empathetic nature really created a bond. Pregnancy can be a confusing and scary time but she made me feel special, comforted and empowered. Those feelings continued throughout my labour, the birth and after the birth. She really just totally understood us and our mentality toward pregnancy and birth. There was absolutely no pressure to do anything we weren’t comfortable with. She gave us tools to make the decisions and have control of the experience but also to lean on her for guidance and reassurance when we needed it.

I was very anxious leading up to the birth and during labour and I can’t express enough how encouraging Leonie was, giving me confidence to make me feel like I could actually do this! I gave birth to our gorgeous boy at home in the pool just how we wanted. Leonie came as soon as we called and was an absolute pillar of strength the whole time. She reassured me when I needed it and made me laugh when I needed that too! I’m so proud and happy that I had such a positive birth experience.

Words can’t describe how much Leonie has done for us, something we can never repay enough. I can 100% recommend this wonderful human being to help bring your baby into the world. In my opinion, there’s no one else better for the job!
